I don't think there is anything better than Google translate now for Android. If you don't mind to use the web www.deepl.com/translate is better right now, but I think Google will catch up soon
Merriam Webster is basic. Oxford dictionary of English has nuance in every word. Oxford's Advanced learner and dictinary.com are best for learners. If you're translating from chinese than use baidu translator rather than google translate.
Benny Bosser My YouTube channel: AAC (Android App Channel). Check it out! 😊
Actually (having done a translation study) Glosbe is the best out there. The app hasn't been updated since 2015,but you can use the website. It gives you the Google translate translation + official gouvernemental approved translations 😊 Ps: Nice to see you active here Jorge !

English dictionary is my favorite dictionary (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=livio.pack.lang.en_US) (other languages available). It's free, ad-free, in-app purchases free, in (somewhat) material design, a little customizable, and requires no permissions. As for translators, Google Translate is the best (app).
